General Information
Dental implants is a predictable dental treatment with a prolonged durability period, it also allows us to modify the design of the smile according to the patient's taste and following the recommendations of our esthetic specialists. The success of these treatments is 97% in ideal physical conditions, their prognosis decreases in patients with diseases such as diabetes, osteoporosis, immunosuppression and with addictions to tobacco and / or alcohol.
Our specialist dentists are properly trained in different techniques of implant placement to perform any type of restoration in your mouth.

Dental implants are considered artificial roots anchored to the maxillary or mandibular bone by means of a screw, with the aim of replacing the root and therefore the missing tooth, simulating in a very natural way the emerging appearance of the tooth through the gum.
Dental implants have the quality of creating a structure on which we can place total, partial or unitary dental prostheses of a tooth, replacing missing teeth, creating a smile designed according to the tastes and qualities that our patients desire.

Why does a Dental Implant treatment take time?
To ensure the survival of your dental implants and their proper function, they have to undergo the process of “Osseo-integration”, which is a structural connection that forms between your natural jawbone and the titanium implant. This process can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months to properly heal and integrate into the jawbone, depending on the location of the dental implant.

Am I a candidate for Dental Implants?
The X-Ray will determine your viability as a candidate for dental implants. This is why it is very important that you send your X-Ray to Dental Costa Rica. In case you already have it, please send it to us and add a front view photograph smiling and a picture of the inside of your mouth via e-mail or Whatsapp (+506 6144-3030) so that all rehabilitation options will be enumerated and everything will be thoroughly discussed with you. This would be the ideal moment to voice out any concerns that may be lingering at the back of your mind.
If you have moderate to high bone density, you will proceed with the usual two-step process. The first step being the placement of the Dental Implant and Temporary Crown and the second step 6 months later will be the Rehabilitation process where the Permanent Crown will replace the temporary one. If you have low bone density, you will proceed with the three-step process. After studying your 3D Scan, the first step will either be the Bone Graft or Sinus Lift. Six months later, you will proceed with the placement of the dental implants, then finally after another 6 months, the Rehabilitation process begins with the replacement from temporary to permanent crowns.
If I have a medical condition, am I still a candidate for Dental Implants?
You will be required to fill up the Medical History Form. Any pre-existing health conditions and any prescription or non-prescription medication must be declared. In most cases, the medication does not interfere with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Plan; however, some types of medicine may have to be put on hold for several days both prior to surgery and after the surgery.
