More Aesthetic Cheeks

Over the years, normally the bichat balls, which are some glands of fatty tissue that are found in the cheeks, begin to slowly decrease in size, generating in the adulthood more refined fascias in which the volume of the cheeks in relation to the cheekbones and the jaw becomes smaller. However, this decrease in volume through Bichectomy is not the same in all people and can be treated.

Generally in people with a more rounded facial contour, prominent cheeks and poorly defined cheekbones, these bags or Bichat balls have not atrophied resulting in a much larger size than desired. It is for this group of patients that Bichectomy represents a good alternative that manages to counteract this annoying phenomenon

The resection of Bichat Bags or Bichectomy, as it is technically called, is the surgical procedure, indicated in both men and women, through which a maxillofacial surgeon partially or totally removes this adipose tissue, permanently resecting it with a small incision of 1 to 1.5 centimeters in the oral mucosa of the mouth (inside each cheek), leaving no visible scars and minimal discomfort for the person. Bichectomy is a surgery lasting approximately 45 minutes, which is performed on an outpatient basis and under local anesthesia.

Bichectomy is not painful during the procedure, nor later. Nor does it cause any disability in daily or work activities. It is a safe procedure with a very low complication rate for the patient.

With a bichectomy, it is possible to see the results one week after the surgery. It has an economic cost and guarantees high patient satisfaction and results are permanent.
